Eurecat is the leading technology center in Catalonia and the second largest private research organization in southern Europe. Eurecat provides the business and industrial sector with differential technology and advanced knowledge to respond to the innovation needs of companies and boost their competitiveness.

The added value provided by Eurecat accelerates innovation, reduces spending on scientific and technological infrastructures, reduces risks and provides specialized knowledge according to the needs of each company. It provides differential solutions to contribute to the value chain with initiatives that add innovation and business to multiply capacities, optimize resources and generate profitability.

Likewise, in its desire to collaborate with other agents of the national innovative system, Eurecat establishes cooperation agreements with other centers that allow technological research and development that require skills and equipment available in other centers to be carried out in a coordinated and advantageous manner for the companies.

The basis of its activity are applied R&D services focused on providing solutions for specific needs. The technological specialization of the center is divided into four Technological Areas: Industrial, Digital, Biotechnological and Sustainability. Which, as a whole, have a high degree of knowledge and specialization in more than 20 technological areas, including: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, intelligent materials, printed electronics, robotics and automation, medical devices, sustainability or nutrition and health. These multi-technology and multi-disciplinary capabilities allow Eurecat to comprehensively face complex challenges as a first-rate partner for the company.

In addition, it has state-of-the-art scientific and technological equipment and its own laboratories such as the Omic Sciences Center or a new Plastronics pilot plant, which is the first in Europe.

Eurecat’s activity is directed at various relevant business sectors due to its presence in the territory and contribution to GDP, highlighting among them automotive, food, tourism, health, energy and resources, construction, rail and aeronautics, cultural and creative industries, systems and industrial processes, textile and ICT.
