The overall objective of the project is to develop a sectoral analysis to identify the barriers to implement circular economy actions in the technical textiles sector, as well as to identify specific CE opportunities for the sector in order to facilitate its implementation in the companies.

 

The study is aimed at:

  • All companies in the technical textiles’ sector which want to know about circular economy and how to apply it. For those who want to come up with ideas of initiatives that are being implemented which promote circular economy.
  • The public administrations so they can be aware about what is the reality of the technical textiles’ sector and to suggest tools to overcome the barriers.
  • The universities and research centers, which want to support the sector in order to facilitate the implementation of circular economy to the companies in the sector.

OBJECTIVES

 

Quantitative objectives: 

  To identify 6 applicable solutions related to raw materials (consumer efficiency and low impact materials).

  To identify 6 applicable solutions related o processes.

  To identify 4 solutions in the symbiosis framework.

  To identify 4 solutions in recycling and waste valorization.

Qualitative objectives:

   To obtain data on how the technical textiles’ sector is applying eco-design strategies to embrace Circular Economy, in order to foster a change of model.

    To obtain information of the sector barriers to apply Circular Economy in order to provide the specific resources.

    To have an overview of solutions promoting Circular Economy, as examples to assess the possibility of replication.

    To include eco-design strategies to prevent waste and to minimize the use of non-renewable resources on the product manufacturing process.
