24/04/2021

AEI Tèxtils participated in the final conference of the TEX4IM project, held between April 20th and 22nd, with two talks featuring key cluster initiatives.

Ariadna Detrell, Cluster Manager at AEI Tèxtils, presented “CONTEXT: Facilitating the market uptake of new advanced textile materials, reducing the gap between research and industry” on April 20th. She introduced the network, led by the cluster, the opportunities to participate in the different activities organized by CONTEXT such as workshops, working groups, the upcoming calls for short term scientific missions and conference grants. She also presented some examples of cluster members developing smart textiles.

On April 21st, Josep Casamada, Projects’ Responsible at AEI Tèxtils, presented “Advanced Textile Materials: innovative textile products with diversified applications – cross sectoral collaborations”. He made an introduction to advanced textile materials, the cluster, the strategic projects led by the cluster (GALACTICACLAMTEX and CONTEXT) and the different initiatives led by the cluster members with particular focus on the medical-hygienic response against COVID-19.

AEI Tèxtils, with the aim of strengthening ties with its international partners, signed, at the beginning of 2020, a collaboration agreement with the TEX4IM project, a sectoral grouping for strategic investment towards the smart specialization in Europe, led by NTT.

AEI Tèxtils is striving for increased communication and strong collaboration at EU level in order to provide better and more valuable services to its members to increase the competitiveness with innovation and digitalization uptake.

Clusters act as a hub and as a collaborative environment to facilitate partnership between companies, research institutes, policy makers and other institutions that promote innovation and provide SMEs access to new knowledge competencies, resources and markets.
