The European project MIDWOR-LIFE, coordinated by AEI Tèxtils, has published its first results.
The aim of the project is to carry out an analysis of the environmental impact of the best technologies currently available that are alternative to toxic DWOR (liquid repellents), used in textile finishing processes, especially those that are fluorinated, and demonstrate which are the best alternatives: the less toxic and with lower environmental impact but at the same time those that will keep the required properties of the fabric.
First results correspond to the selection of most representative DWORs currently used, the alternatives, as well as most representative textile materials.
