AEI Tèxtils participated in a hands-on digital capability training in Aachen with its members

06/04/2022

Several members from AEI Tèxtils participated in a custom training on digitalization for the textile industry at the Digital Capability Center Aachen, from ITA Academy. The training was funded within the project, CLAMTEXCluster management towards excellence in Advanced Manufacturing and Textile Industry, which is coordinated by AEI Tèxtils.

In total, 30 participants from Spain, Portugal and France joined AEI Tèxtils in the training for 3 days in Aachen, Germany, covering topics such as digital readiness to address deficits in analog production, data acquisition of the entire value stream to understand bottlenecks and data mining opportunities, hands-on opportunities on digital production with examples of machine learning for quality monitoring, mixed-reality tools such as virtual reality and augmented reality for assisted manufacturing, and work 4.0 trends for change management and to address the challenges for future factories.

FINSA and LEITAT, both members from AEI Tèxtils benefited from this top-level training including travel vouchers in the frame of ClusterXchange program, a pilot funding scheme of the European Union to support mobilities for learning across Europe for cluster members. “We want to thank AEI Tèxtils for this great training and networking opportunity, seeing examples of what’s possible with the actual looms allows us a more practical approach for our next steps in our digital transformation roadmap at FINSA” – Dani Alcalà – R&D Manager at FINSA.

In parallel to the training, participants visited the facilities from Institut für Textiltechnik of RWTH Aachen University and participated in networking sessions to promote connections and collaborations among companies from the different regions and sectors of CLAMTEX.

This activity is fully aligned with the new strategy of the cluster on skills to accelerate strategic and technological capabilities and attract talent to drive innovation and resilient growth in the sector; and with the strategic line of supporting digitalization to enhance the digital transformation of the sector through innovation, internationalization, skills and business development.
