Tèxtils.CAT starts TEX-BREIN to develop a portfolio of investment pilots to drive the green transition in the textile sector

Tèxtils.CAT participated on 11th and 12th December in the launch of TEX-BREIN project in Prague, funded under Interregional Innovation Investment (I3) program of the European Commission. It aims to develop a portfolio of investment pilots to drive the green transition across Europe, fostering the development and upscaling of the CIRCULAR Hub of the cluster.

TEX-BREIN aims to build and strengthen innovative and resilient value chains and support the circular transition of European textile communities, to foster interregional collaboration among different actors of the quadruple-helix and support the upskilling and the increase of textile circular solutions of less developed regions. Clusters will lead the assistance on companies to pinpoint investment prospects and formulate investment portfolios on an interregional level, for the benefit of textile ecosystems.

The project brings together a partnership led by CLUTEX, the technical textile cluster from Czech Republic, CIRI a public development agency in CZ, and a series of clusters from textile sector including Tèxtils.CAT as the Catalan Cluster of Advanced Textile Materials, the Portuguese Textile Cluster (CITEVE), the Tuscany fashion cluster, the Polish textile association, and Smart Textiles Boras in Sweden, together with the advanced technologies cluster from Portugal, PRODUTECH.

This project will enable Tèxtils.CAT to further develop activities in its CIRCULAR Hub recently presented nurturing with activities in interregional training and capacity building to identify, select and develop investment pilots in cooperation with other regions.

During the project, Tèxtils.CAT will facilitate travel support to cluster members to visit and explore different textile ecosystems in Europe, will organize several regional meetups to foster green transition discussion as well as support SMEs prioritizing their projects and structure them into investment opportunities to boost their implementation.

Tèxtils.CAT’s CIRCULAR hub aims to facilitate advanced textile materials companies an easy way to access tools for driving the green transition, providing high-value connections and as a community to share best practices. TEX-BREIN will accelerate a set of tools to further implement the hub strategy in supporting the cluster SMEs in becoming greener and more competitive.
