Tèxtils.CAT participated at the working group and the informative session on Euroclusters 2024, organized by ACCIÓ for Catalan clusters.
Tèxtils.CAT as experienced cluster organization and participant in two ongoing Eurocluster initiatives (xBUILD-EU coordinated and EuroBoosTEX as partner) has strong expertise in management of open calls and cascade funding with over 8M€ managed already over the past few years.
During the session, Josep Casamada, Responsible for managing cluster projects, had the opportunity to highlight the best practices acquired over the past few years thanks to the design and implementation of different cascade funding mechanisms in different projects such as GALACTICA, xBUILD-EU, EuroBoosTEX and In Transit.
Tèxtils.CAT assessment of cascade funding mechanisms is truly remarkable, particularly for SMEs. Over the past 2 years 25 individual cluster members have received more than 1M€ for implementing their innovative projects, internationalization plans, and to drive the green and digital transition in the advanced textile materials sector of Catalonia. This is possible thanks to the custom design of open calls to industry needs where clusters are working hand-by-hand on a daily basis and particularly by the lump-sum operation facilitating the administration of the grants by individual SMEs.
Tèxtils.CAT promotes the acceleration of the green and digital transition as a driver of growth and competitiveness of SMEs with different initiatives such as cascade funding and the organization of networking and capacity building activities through its CIRCULAR Hub.
