Tèxtils.CAT was present at the 65th Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress, held from 16 to 18 September 2026 in Dornbirn (Austria). As a member of the congress’s Programme Committee, Tèxtils.CAT also took part in the committee meeting held the day before the congress.
65 years of the Fiber Congress in Dornbirn
Since 1962, the congress has offered a platform where scientific breakthroughs, entrepreneurial ideas and pioneering technologies gain visibility and momentum. Founded as the Fiber Congress and renamed the Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress in 2018, it has built a strong bridge between science and industry and has become increasingly international. In 2026, around 250 companies were represented among over 400 participants from almost 30 countries, who gathered in Dornbirn to exchange knowledge, present innovations and discuss the future of the fiber and textiles industry.
Connect, Create & Catalyse
These three words sum up the role of Dornbirn-GFC in bringing the global fibre community together to shape what comes next:
- Connect – generations, countries and disciplines. For 65 years, Dornbirn has been the place where students, researchers, experts, professors and senior executives meet to address industry-wide challenges.
- Create – ideas, partnerships and solutions. Industry partners from the global fibre sector meet universities, start-ups, business angels, brands and associations, creating an open environment for dialogue that connects established expertise with fresh ideas.
- Catalyse – turning innovation into impact. Beyond presenting innovation, the congress is a place where ideas become concepts, R&D projects, scale-up and commercialisation, connecting innovators with the people, partners and networks needed to move forward.
A meeting point for the textile ecosystem
Dornbirn GFC is a valuable place to strengthen relationships with key players in the sector. During the congress, the Tèxtils.CAT team met Sabine Scharrer, Director of Techtextil, among other stakeholders from the international textile and fibre industry.
