The consortium of LIFE DPP-TEX project gathered in Varna, Bulgaria, for the kick-off meeting of this initiative, which is funded by the EU’s LIFE programme.
Led by the Catalan company BLUEROOM INNOVATION, the project focuses on deploying Digital Product Passports to tackle textile waste and drive circularity, traceability, and compliance across the European textiles sector. As a partner in the project, Tèxtils.CAT is working alongside its member ALSICO IBERIA, who will be co-leading one of the major industrial pilots in Spain.
By combining digital tracking with industrial circularity, LIFE DPP-TEX aims to process 27 tonnes of textile waste and deliver one of the first large-scale operational DPPs for textiles by 2028.
